-- There was a history to the Apple II, even before it was shown to the 
public.  The Woz Wonderbook is a compilation of notes, code listings, docs 
and diagrams compiled by Steve Wozniak during the early days of the Apple

-- Photography buffs might be interested in the camera shutter tester 
recently designed by Mike Willegal as an add-on card for the Apple II.  
His Super D'Lux Home Brew Shutter Tester is a homebrew device that can be

--Several Apple II or Apple II-related software titles were announced as 
either updated or new: 

 - Andy McFadden has released a new update to his shareware program, 
CiderPress.  Version 2.1.2 has improved cassette emulation, better handling 
of filetype changes for DOS 3.3 emulation as well as new features for NuFx 
functions.  CiderPress is a shareware program for Windows, with a $9.95 
registration and full information about it can be found at:

 - Apple IIGS users who run Twilight II will be interested in Kelvin 
Sherlock's new srcreensaver module, called "Inkblot," which draws (what 
else?) Inkblots on your screen when Twilight II kicks in.  The module can

Kelvin has also released some new versions of his software:  Lilan is a 
Finder Extra that allows the IIGS user to quickly launch their 10 most 
recent applications.  Qserver is a "quote of the day" NDA which can use 
quotes with sources as diverse as the cartoon "Futurama" as well as Star 
Trek.  Note that this program requires Marinetti to operate. Lilan is now 
at ver. 1.0.2 and Qserver is now at ver. 1.0.1 These can also be

 - Apple II News and Notes Publisher Ryan Suenaga continues to release new 
IIGS software with the announcement of his DictioNDA program.  This dict 
client uses Marinetti and lets the user look up definitions of words and 
phrases in Internet dictionaries.  It can be downloaded at:

 - Role-playing fans should check out the newest version of Silvern Castle 
recently released by Jeff Fink.  It can be downloaded at:

-- Emulation News 

 - KEGS has been upgraded to version .091 to allow a better Mac OS X 
interface as well as fix a SmartPort bug found in the previous version.  
Other bugfixes are included, and users of the previous versions are urged 
to upgrade to the current one.  It can be downloaded at:

Linux, and Unix/X11.

 - The AppleWin emulator for Windows has also been upgraded to version 
1.12.5.0.  This new release adds an emulator save-state, a volume control 
for speaker & Mockingboard. use, added control for a keyboard buffer, as 
well as other features and bugfixes.  It can be downloaded at:
